Abercorn School has been awarded 2 Eco Flags since 2007. These flags are given where schools show a commitment to environmental issues.
Abercorn runs various initiatives in this respect.
Paper Recycling
Abercorn School recycles all it's paper waste and each classroom has a seperate paper bin. Once a week pupils collect the paper waste and place it in the blue recycling bins. These bins are then collected twice a month by Glasgow City Council.
Battery Recycling
There is a battery box in the main hall where all used batteries are collected and then sent off for recycling
Gardening
A gardening group runs each Friday afternoon where pupils tidy the school grounds and plant various seasonal flowers and shrubs. Through the work of this group the school grounds have been transformed. Thanks Mr McNab and pals!
