School Prom 2017

On Thursday 8th June Abercorn School celebrated its Prom at the Central Hotel in Glasgow.  Our Pupils were treated to a red carpet reception and gourmet dinner followed by a traditional Ceilidh and some disco dancing action!  The event was planned and booked by Abercorn pupils with the help of Mrs Leyden and there has been a lot of hard work behind the scenes to bring this event together.

Smiles: Anthony and Stephen arrive at the Prom. More Smiles: Shinead, Chloe and Aimee-Leigh.

After having their pictures taken on the hotel staircase pupils were recieved in the Clyde Suite where an alcohol free bar served drinks.  They were then ushered into the main dining area where food was served.

Too cool for school: Looking down the main dining area Hungry: Jamie waiting to be served

After the meal there were presentations and prize givings including the announcement of the winners of the Prom Queen and Prom King titles.   Our winners this year were Megan O'Sullivan and Jack Paton.  Well done guys!

The first song of the evening was a traditional Scottish dance track.  Pupils had been  learning the Gay Gordons in PE classes and had a chance to show off their skills here.  The remainder of the evening was spent dancing the night away to a mixture of pop songs - old and new.  The night was a great success and we wish our leavers the best in their future.

Looking Swish: Martin arrives in style.

Traditional Dance: Pupils and teachers show off their Gay Gordons abilities!

The Two Ronnies: Kosrat and Kyle looking dapper.  Good luck in your future guys!
