Two Fat Ladies Charity Fundraiser

On Monday 5th March Abercorn pupils, in conjunction with Two Fat Ladies at the Buttery, hosted a charity evening at the famous Finneston restaurant.  The night was attended by pupils, parents and teachers and donations were made with all proceeds going to the school.

On the night, our pupils were invited to help with table service and this gave them an excellent oppurtunity to practise skills learned at their hospitality college course.  Their professionalism was praised highly by the restaurant owners and they were a credit to themselves and the school.  Many of our young people look to find jobs in the catering sector and this was invaluable experience for them.

Tipsy: Aimee-Leigh and Steven pour wine for the guests

Professional: Chloe attends to her table

The night was a resounding success with Rory McGinlay, the restaurant manager, stating that our pupils were "...so professional, keen and willing to learn – they were an absolute delight to work with.”  The total raised was £4200 which will be invaluable in helping our youngsters in various aspects of their school life, including contributions towards travel expenses for our Special Olympics althletes.   Many thanks to Two Fat Ladies for their generosity and for giving this excellent oppurtunity to our young folk.

Cheers!: Smiles all round from staff, pupils and parents.
