Abercorn Boys lead Scotland National Team to Victory

Over the Easter break Mr Baird and 2 Abercorn pupils travelled with the Scottish under19s team to the National Football Championships.  Our pupils Kyle Gault and Blair McGregor had been training hard for months for this competition and were fit and ready for the challenge.

Abercorn's Players: Kyle and Blair show off the Home Nations Trophy

Scotland started their campaign strongly, defeating Northern Ireland 3-0. In their next two matches the team really showed their character, recovering from a 2-0 deficit to draw against Wales and bouncing back from an early goal against the Republic of Ireland to go on and win 2-1.

This final victory crowned the team National Champions and they were proud to bring the Home Nations Trophy back with them.

A huge congratulations goes to the whole team but in particular to Kyle, Blair and our resident sports guru Mr Baird who have all shown commitment and dedication to the team over the past year.  Well done lads.
