S1 Trip to Amazonia

On Tuesday 7th October S1 pupils and the English department travelled to Amazonia in Strathclyde Country Park as part of their work on the story 'Crash in Jungle' by Jim Alderson.   Pupils had a chance to view and handle various tropical creatures including lizards and tarantulas!

John Paul examines a snake in the dark room. 1B girls handle a lizard.

Safety precautions were necessary when viewing certain creatures.  Tarantulas are known to flick hairs at people if they perceive them as a threat so safety goggles were needed when handing them.

Darren and his snake scarf! Jack handles a tarantula!  Safety goggles required!
