Pila 2018

On 8th December twenty-five of our pupils travelled to Aosta in the Italian alps for a week of skiing.   They were accompanied by parents and teachers and paired up with pupils travelling from Merkland School who were embarking on their first ever ski trip.

Our young people had been taking ski-ing lessons over the past year and their hard work paid off.  As confidence built throughout the week, some pupils moved on to higher graded slopes and each pupil returned with a good sense of achievement.

Group Lessons:  Instructor Riccardo taking a group for lessons on the slopes.

In addition to the confidence built on the slopes, for many of our pupils this was the their first time abroad and their first time on a plane.  Everyone coped very well, even those who had inital fears.   These type of experiences are invaluable in integrating our pupils into the wider world.

On the way up: Beatiful scenery on the chair lifts

Best Buds: New and lasting friendships were forged with pupils from Merkland School

All in: A great experience for all involved and we hope our young folk have made many happy memoires!
